Damian Lillard, Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham Highlight Field to NBA 3-Point competition

The NBA has announced participants in the 3-point competition, which will take place during the All-Star weekend next week. The competition will happen on Saturday, February 15 as one of the three skills events that day.

The field is highlighted by two-time defense champion Damian Lillard, who will aim for a three-peat. Lillard has a chance to attend Larry Bird and Craig Hodges as the only players who win the competition three consecutive times.

Participants in the competition will be:

  • Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks: 39.7% of 5.8 3pa

  • Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons: 35.4% of 6.4 3pa

  • Darius Garland, Cleveland Cavaliers: 42.9% of 6.9 3pa

  • Tyler Herro, Miami Heat: 39.3% of 9.7 3pa

  • Buddy Hield, Golden State Warriors: 37.1% on 7 3pa

  • Cam Johnson, Brooklyn Nets: 41.7% of 7.7 3pa

  • Damian Lillard, Milwaukee Bucks: 37.9% of 8.9 3pa

  • Norman Powell, Los Angeles Clippers: 43.1% of 7.9 3pa

Lillard is the most experienced in the 3-point field and participates in the competition for the fifth time in his career.

HILED, the 3-point champion in 2020, will take on the challenge for the third time in his career, while Herro and Brunson will participate for the second time. Cunningham, Garland, Johnson and Powell are all first -time participants.

Lillard, Brunson, Cunningham, Garland and Herro also play in the All-Star game Sunday as part of the official list.
