Nima Momeni convicted of 2nd degree murder of stabbing of cash app founder Bob Lee

Nima Momeni is facing 16 years to life in prison for using a knife to mortally stabbing the cash app -founder Bob Lee in San Francisco.

San Francisco And A judge in San Francisco has established the penalty measurement date for a technical consultant convicted in stabbing death of the cash app founder Bob Lee for May 16.

The killer, Nima Momeni, refused to come to court on Friday when he faces 16 years to life for the second degree of murder.

Back story:

In December, a jury Momeni, 40, found guilty of April 4, 2023, Lee’s death, a beloved tech mogul found staggering on a deserted center of the street, leaving a trace of blood and called for help. Lee, 43, later died in a hospital.

Prosecutors said Momeni planned the attack on Lee, drove him to an isolated place under the Bay Bridge and stabbed him three times, including once in his heart, with a knife he took from his sister’s kitchen.
They say Momeni was angry with Lee for introducing her younger sister to a drug trafficking, as she says, gave her GHB and other drugs and then assaulted her sexually.

But Momeni testified at the stance that Lee was the one who attacked him with a knife angry, after the technology consultant Chide him to spend more time with his family instead of searching for a strip club that night. Momeni, who is studying martial arts, said he was not aware that he had mortally wounded Lee, or that Lee was even injured.

Sister says Nima Momeni calm after she told him she exaggerated

The sister of the accused murderer Nima Momeni testified on Monday that her brother was “calm and collected” after she told him the alleged drug dealer for the cash app -founder Bob Lee had given her and a friend “too much drugs” and had beaten Her back in the back. The defendant is accused of stabbing Lee.

“We are a city obliged to accountability, we are a city obliged to public security,” Jenkins told journalists after the hearing.
Momeni has been in custody since his arrest in April 2023, when he was indicted for first -time murder.

Lee had created the Mobile Payment Service cash app and was the main product manager for Cryptocurrency MobileCoin when he died. He had recently moved to Miami from San Francisco and had returned to California for a visit.
