Another icy winter mix on the way to the weekend. Here’s what to expect | Weather

For the second time in three days, an icy winter mix creates smooth travel conditions through large parts of the area. Our next winter weather event is set to arrive later Saturday afternoon and last through the night over hours on Sunday.

Like its predecessor, this will not be an all-song event and it will not result in a lot of snow. Rather, a slight accumulation of snow is topped and then a slight accumulation of sleet with a slight accumulation of freezing rain or ice. The combination will lead to a crunchy and icy accumulation that allows all untreated surfaces to become smooth and smooth.

Winter Storm Alarms for Weekends at 2-8-25

Snow is expected to develop later Saturday afternoon, then mixed with and change to gossip on Saturday night, then switch to and end like freezing rain and dripped later at night. Temperatures must remain during freezing all night, even when the precipitate ends, so smooth travel conditions will stay on Sunday morning. However, Sunday will be a completely dry day, and when temperatures rise above freezing and the sky is ready, the journey must steadily improve during the day, in time for the Super Bowl.

Right now it seems that Poconos will see the most snow and gossip, with 2 to 4 “of snow/sleet combined expected, followed by a light glaze of ice. About 4″+ quantities are possible north of I-84- the corridor, closer to the new boundary.

Expected snow Saturday and Saturday nights 2-8-25

For the Lehigh Valley and the rest of the I-78 corridor, 1-2 inches of snow/gossip are before a change to freezing rain, with one to two tenths of an empty ice cream expected. Further south of I-78 through Berks, Montgomery, Bucks and Chester Counties, a coating for an empty snow and gossip will then turn to ice with up to a quarter of an empty freezing rain possible. In these areas, the freezing rain will be more problematic than snow and gossip.

Another storm arrives on Tuesday and it is more likely to be all snow.
