Deion Sanders: Sheath watch wouldn’t be the quarterback he is if he had inherited my speed

Deion Sanders was a big athlete at all times. His son Shedeur is a talented quarterback and first round view of 2025 NFL draft, but not the same kind of athlete as his father was. And Deion says it’s ok.

Deion Sanders visited Pft Live Set today and said that if shedur had inherited his father’s speed, he would have been dependent on it – and not developed into the kind of passing and cerebral player that an NFL quarterback should be.

“I don’t think shedur would be the quarterback he is if he had it,” Sanders said. “Because now he really has to use the intellect and instinct and understanding of the game and the defense defense.”

Sanders said he believes that ups and downs that Shedeur has fought through have only served to make him a better player.

“How many quarterbacks that go into this draft have started every game in high school, every game in college, but one, have had several different coordinators and not the best protection we want and his numbers continue every year?” Said Sanders.

Deion went from the fifth overall election in 1989 the NFL draft of the Hall of Fame. He thinks his son could raise a similar path.
