Suns 135-127 Jazz (7th February 2025) Game Recap

Phoenix-Devin Booker scored a season high 47 points, Grayson Allen hit a 3-pointer on the buzzer to force overtime, and the short-handed Phoenix Suns turned to beat Utah Jazz 135-127 Friday night.

With 0.9 seconds left in regulation, Allen caught an incoming passport and hit the 3-pointer from the right wing to tie it on 122. Allen opened the extra period by another 3, and Suns scored the first eight points of overtime to withdraw away and barely a three-match losing row.

John Collins led Utah with 21 points .. Lauri Markkanen added 20.

Suns led 111-98 with 5:31 back in regulation, and jazz responded with a 13-0 race to tie it. Utah brought back 120-116 with 4.7 seconds, but Allen hit two 3-Pointers in the last five seconds for an unlikely rally.

Allen ended with 21 points and hit seven 3-Pointers.

Suns played without the wounded Kevin Durant (ankle) and Bradley Beal (toe). Two other players – Forward Cody Martin and Guard Vasa Micic – were not available After being acquired from Charlotte Thursday.

Bol Bol hit a 3-Pointer with 8.8 seconds left in the second quarter to push Phoenix into a 55-all-up at the break. Booker scored 22 points before the break on 8-of-12 shooting.

Takeaways

Jazz: It’s a brutal loss for Utah that looked like it had a big coming-back victory.

Suns: It is perhaps the best victory of the season for Suns considering the circumstances. It’s hard to say if this will trigger any kind of resurgence in the late season, but it couldn’t hurt.

Keying moment

Allen’s two 3-Pointers in less than five seconds are hard to beat.
