The second round of 2025 WM Phoenix open are in the books. There were 13 golfers who did not complete their second round Friday, which were suspended for darkness. Same thing happened on Thursday.

This is the 90th game of the fifth oldest event on PGA Tour. For the 39th time, the tournament will be played at TPC Scottsdales Stadium course in Scottsdale, Arizona. The tournament has gone to an end game of six of the last nine years.

Hotshot -amateur Luke Clanton out of Florida State ran a late race with birdies at No. 15 and 17, but fell a shot at getting the clip and earning a 20th point in the PGA Tour U -Position, which would have secured his PGA Tour -short.

Detry, which has nine top 10s in 67 starts on the PGA Tour, is still looking for his first win.

After another round 64, which included a birdie on the violent 16th hole, Detry is under 12 and went off the field with a two-shot lead.

Detry, a 32-year-old from Belgium, said he had perfect yardage with his tee shot on par 3.

“The wind changed a bit, so instead of being away from the right and in, it was a little down, so it was a perfect wedge for me,” he said. “The green ones are so firm that you kind of want to come in with full shots, kinds come from tall, full shots with spin. So it was perfectly full wedge and it hit in a perfect place and I think that spun a little bit.

Woods committed to Genesis Invitational on Friday. It is one of the three player -hosted signature events on the PGA Tour. It will be held in Torrey Pines in 2025 due to the destructive fires near Pacific Palisades part of Los Angeles.

The tournament will return to the Riviera Country Club in 2026.

Rickie Fowler retired from WM Phoenix open Friday morning with reference to illness.

Fowler is a fan favorite everywhere, but has a special bond with Thunderbirds and the tournament, giving him a sponsorship invitation in 2009.

First round leader Wyndham Clark has gifts for fans on 16. Hole

Clark opened his week with a 7-under 64 and held a one-shot lead after 18 holes. He also told fans via social media to be ready for him to get through the 16th hole Friday when he wanted some goodies to give away.

Clark started on the back nine for his second round and was to be at the 16th hole around 2 p.m. 10 local time (noon one).
