Baltimore -Some Maryland schools have canceled activities for Saturday 8 February, as another round of winter weather is expected in the Baltimore region.

A slight accumulation of ice is expected in the region, which can make roads smooth, according to WJZ’s First alarm weather team. The Baltimore area could see about a tenth of an empty ice, while areas in western Maryland could get more than a quarter of an inch.

School activity delays/cancellations

  • Anne Arundel County Public Schools delayed his Middle and High School concert to 10:30
  • Baltimore County Public Schools canceled all activities after 7 p.m. 15 Saturday
  • Howard County Public Schools Canceled all activities after noon Saturday
  • Howard Community College closed after 7 p.m. 15.00

According to the first alarm, the snowfall begins late in the morning and continues in the afternoon. It will gradually turn to gossip and freeze rain as the afternoon continues.

Temperatures are expected to remain just during freezing in the evening.

Winter weather in Maryland

Maryland had its first blizzard of the season on January 5, and parts of the state received 3 to 12 inches of snow.

The state saw more snowfall, followed by bitter cold temperatures in mid -January. Another winter storm is expected to bring ice and snow to the region next week.

So far this winter Maryland has reported 30 Cold -related deaths From February 5th.

Baltimore Health -Officers shared the following tips to stay warm in winter:

  • Carry mittens rather than gloves to keep your fingers in close contact and hands warmer
  • Become hydrated and avoid alcoholic beverages
  • Cover your face, ears and mouth with a scarf
  • Go slowly and avoid icy walkways
  • Keep outdoor pets in raised shelters and make sure they have frozen water
  • Put only space warmers in wall outlets and at least three feet from flammable materials
  • Do not use generators, barbecue or camp oven indoors
