Impold road conditions led to two major crashes on Warner Road in St. Paul, who involved more than 40 drivers and left four people wounded on Thursday morning.

First crash:

St. Paul Police Department said there were two major crashes on Warner Road in the middle of icy road conditions on Thursday morning.

The first crash that took place around 1 p.m. 7.30, involved 13 vehicles. Police said two people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

Other crashes:

Only two hours later, approx. at. 9:45, another major crash happened on Warner Road just west of Highway 52. ​​Police said the incident involved 30 drivers and two more people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two crashes had closed Warner Road for a while, police said. While most of the cars sustained less damage, 12 vehicles had to be dragged.

Due to the icy road conditions, sand cars were requested to grind the road.
