Gmail users called for not ignoring FBI warnings as sophisticated AI-driven scams target users

Gmail users are asked to secure their accounts and remain vigilant as a number of very sophisticated AI-driven scams seem to target users of the popular email program. According to Forbes, The FBI has responded to the attacks and reminds users not to take unsolicited calls from people who claim to represent customer support.

“Legitimate customer, security or technical support companies will not start unsolicited contact with individuals,” says a warning from 2022 from the FBI.

The latest attack seems to use AI technology to emulate a real person. This “person” calls the goal that claims to represent Google and warn the goal that someone may have been trying to access their account abroad. The scheme uses a caller’s id that makes it look like the call is actually coming from Google.

An E -Mail arrives shortly thereafter, which also seems to come from Google warning about the problem and calls on the goal to use a code IE email to restore their account. By trying to recover the account the target could then give the hacker access to the account.

The same scams can be used to target people to access to bank accounts, cryptocurrency -draw books and more.

To protect yourself from scam, the FBI reminds people to never give away login information and passwords over the phone. If you receive a call and are concerned that it may not be real but still want to confirm that there is no problem, you need to hang on and contact the company at its posted customer service phone number.

Gmail users can also enable advanced protective features with their accounts using Paskers and Smart Keys to secure your account, even if a hacker should steal your login information and password.
