Dick Jauron, former Bears, Bill’s head coach, dies at 74

Former Chicago Bears head coach Dick Jouron, who was named AP coach in the year in 2001 after led the bears to a record of 13-3, died on Saturday. He was 74.

Jaouron Coachede Bears from 1999 to 2003 and ended with a 35-45 record in Chicago. Later he coached Buffalo Bills from 2006 to 2009 and went 24-33 in three-plus seasons. He was also the temporary head coach of the Detroit Lions for the last five games of the 2005 season.

Before his coaching career, Jouron was a NFL safety for eight seasons. He was elected in the fourth round of the NFL draft of 1973 by Lions. He played in Detroit for five years before completing his playing career with Cincinnati Bengals.

Jaouron, a prominence that runs back at Yale, was introduced to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2015.
