Celtic damage Fear comes true as the starter’s back problem confirmed

Celtic has been relatively harmless this season compared to the past. But there have been some concerns recently with certainty.

One of them was around their first -choice goalkeeper, Kasper Schmeichel, who seems to have missed a couple of training sessions recently.

Originally, it is assumed to be extra rest for the 38-year-old. But now it seems that there may have been more behind the unanswered training sessions.

Schmeichel has been controlled by the Celtic’s upcoming Scottish Cup match against the Raith Rovers. Viljami Sinisalo, who was also signed last summer, starts in his place.

As reported by The Celtic wayWhen Brendan Rodgers was asked about his team, the manager said:
“No, only one. Kasper Schmeichel doesn’t play. So Viljami Sinisalo will start and go. Kasper had a little problem with his back. So he will miss in the game and which I have seen in the before season with Viljami, he is a Young goalkeeper who came in and played these games really well and then I really look forward to seeing him make his debut.

Of course, the first thing that Celtic fans will be concerned about after hearing that news is Schmeichel’s accessibility for the upcoming Champions League match against Bayern Munich set for next mid -week.

There is a more positive update about it as it seems that the goalkeeper will be available on that occasion. Rodgers said, “Yes, he will be okay for Wednesday.”

Schmeichel was signed last summer as a free agent when Celtic replaced the retiring Joe Hart with someone even older than him.

Not surprisingly, the eyebrows were raised at the move, as most supporters had wanted a long -lasting goalkeeper to be signed, but Schmeichel has shown that the doubts were wrong with his performances and have already earned a contract extension.

Hopefully this is just a one -off question for Schmeichel. On the other hand, the Rain Rovers game will be a great opportunity for Sinisalo to show what he is capable of and prove that he could be a long-term opportunity for the club in the future.
