Lakers signs Jordan Goodwin to two -way contract and derogates Armel Traoré

Los Angeles Lakers’ list has undergone some wholesale changes over the past week after the Blockbuster trade to acquire Luka Doncic.

While the acquisition of players like Doncic and Mark Williams makes Lakers better in the short and long term, they also gave up some quality pieces. A remarkable guardness that LA was unable to tackle at the trade deadline was the defense defense after treating both Max Christie and Cam Reddish.

Lakers has an open list of location so it could meet the need for the acquisition market. However, they do not waste any time as they sign one of their own, Jordan Goodwin from South Bay Lakers, to a two -way contract, per. Shams Charania from Athletic:

Lakers will waive Rookie Armel Traoré to open a two -way place for goodwin:

Lakers announced later that these list of movements were official.

Lakers now have Goodwin, Christian Koloko and Trey Jemison III on two -way contracts on their way into the last stretch of the regular season.

Goodwin is a 26-year-old guard that went out in 2021 out of Saint Louis. He has spent time with Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies and in 57 total matches during the 2023-24 NBA season, Goodwin was an average of 6.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists of 18.5 minutes.

He signed an exhibition 10 contract with Lakers under training camp and after he was waived ended with South Bay Lakers in G League.

In 14 regular seasonal matches for South Bay, Goodwin has an average .

Goodwin is not known for its score or shooting, but it is not as it is what is needed on this Lakers list. He is a strong defender on the perimeter and rebounds that LA is missing, and has NBA experience to give some depth for JJ Redick’s team.

JJ Redick is discussing what Mark Williams will bring to Lakers

Lakers were able to get a center to replace Anthony Davis before the trade deadline with the acquisition of Mark Williams. He attended Duke, like JJ Redick, and the Lakers head coach discussed what the big man will bring to the team.

“We feel that Mark is a young starting center in this NBA and he gives the vertical threat. We as staff think a job has to do with developing him as a screener, decision maker in his pocket and at the defensive end, but we are sure of his character, work ethics, IQ, that he becomes a really good player for us. “
