Hawks Wave Wand and Dazzle Wiz in the third quarter, 125-111

Hawks debuted a new team tonight with the additions of Georges Niang – inserted into the starting lineup at Power Forward – Caris Lever and Ternance Mann, who all made their first appearances with Hawks tonight. With the knocked Washington Wizards on the other hand, it was a perfect opportunity to ease this trio in the rotation.

One thing that has been constant this season? Trae Young finds Zaccharie Risacher on cuts:

Ternance Mann and Caris Liver later debuted from the bench in the first quarter, but none of the new additions could find their rhythm on the field. In fact, the entire Hawks violation struggled as a whole to get started.

The only consistent goal scorer of the quarter was Dyson Daniels who got busy driving to the basket:

Later, Liver registered his first points in a Hawks uniform, the first of the trio to score:

Still after a quarter, Hawks pulled 30-26.

The offensive stream was much better in the first part of the second quarter, with Hawks pulling almost even with Washington. Vit Krejci and Dyson Daniels were especially crispy in getting into the paint and kicking it out to shooters like Larry Nance Jr. and risaches.

Onyeka Okongwu found Mann on a cut for his first points as a Hawks midway through the second quarter:

But Hawks had lapsed defensively, and the wizards took advantage of again and again.

Trae Young took over late in the second quarter and went on a personal 9-0 race to strengthen the Hawks scoring. In fact, he finished half responsible for Atlanta’s last 14 points, with a bowl to niang the only non-score from Young.

At the break, Hawks led 63-58. Young had 23 points and six assists to this point.

Out of half drained Risaches his second triple of the competition:

And then Georges Nagle went completely unconscious and hit four triangles in quick order.

It burst out the lead in double digits for hawks. From there, guys broke out behind the back, adding flair and fun to the procedure.

Young even put a show for Flex Cam with this and-1.

After three quarters, Hawks drove 104-83.

The wizards were able to walk on a small race early in the fourth quarter and cut the lead to single digits. It was a reminder that the team needed to lock in and secure the game, regardless of the talent available on the other side.

Atlanta remained calm and kept a piece of distance from Washington down the stretch.

Atlanta finally removed the wizards, 125-111.

Trae Young ended with a monster 35 point, 14-assistant evening including being +36 in plus/minus. Zaccharie Risacher added 18 points and Georges Niang poured in 16 points in his Hawks debut.

The victory moves Atlanta to 25-28 with two more games back on Road Trip on the way into the All-Star weekend holiday. Next up is Orlando Monday night.
