Arctic cold, snow to return, low temperatures return

Denver is expected to see up to 65 hours of freezing temperatures this week as a new wave of Arctic air and snow hits the city.

Temperatures fall during freezing around 2 p.m. 16 Monday and starts a strip of Frigid weather that is not expected to end until around 10 pm. 9 Friday, according to National Weather Service forecasts.

The forecasts said temperatures could potentially rise just above freezing around 10 pm. 15 Thursday, which could cut the city’s under-freezing row down to 45 hours instead.

NWS forecasters said Two waves of snow expected to fall into the metro area this week: Light Rurries will dust Denver from Monday night to Tuesday morning, and a wave of strikers, heavier snow will hit Tuesday night in Wednesday morning.

In total, Downtown Denver is expected to see 2 to 6 inches of snow between 7 p.m. 17 Monday and at. 17 Wednesday, according to NW’s snow predicts. Other forecasts for Metro Area include:

  • 2 to 6 inches in Denver International Airport
  • 2 to 6 inches in Arvada, Aurora, Brighton, Northglenn and Parker
  • 1 to 6 inches in Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood and Littleton
  • 2 to 7 inches in Broomfield and Golden
