Luka Dončić falls 14 points in Lakers -debut along with LeBron James in Blowout -Sejr Over Jazz

Luka Dončić got his Los Angeles Lakers for a week after the trade that shocked the sports world.

That game went smoothly. Dončić fell 14 while helping Lakers to a dominant 132-113 victory over jazz in the center of Los Angele. He shot 5-of-14 from the field and 1-of-7 behind the arch with five rebounds and four assists in what was his first match back in weeks after a calf injury. Although he only played 24 minutes, Dončić saw back on his old self.

“I was just happy to be on the field again,” Dončić said at ESPN after the game.

Dončić entered Lakers’ starting lineup with LeBron James, and he was last announced to a loud roar from fans at the Crypto.com Arena. Fans also received a custom Dončić Lakers shirt upon arrival.

Dončić also didn’t wasting much time scoring. He drained his first points with Lakers on a 3-pointer from the top of the key just minutes into the competition.

Dončić was traded for Lakers on February 1st for Anthony Davis, a step that is still NBA thanks to the collective anger of Dalla’s Maverick fans and Davis’ unhappy start with the team.

Mavericks has reportedly increased security after death threats against general manager Nico Harrison – and that was before Sunday’s news that Davis is supposed to be out for several weeks with an adductor tribe he suffered from his debut on Saturday. Davis did not sustain the contact damage in the third quarter of Mavericks’ games against Houston Rockets. The game was his first since he suffered an abdominal strain on January 29, while still playing for Lakers.

Dončić has not played since Christmas when he had been out with a left calf strain. In 22 games this season he is an average of 28.1 points 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists and joins a Lakers team now 32-19, which is in fifth place in the western conference.

Lakers Rookie Dalton Knecht was also made available for Monday’s game, although coach JJ Redick said he is not planning to play him. Knecht was traded to Charlotte Hornets before the deadline, but this trade was lifted after Mark Williams failed a physical. Knecht is expected to play again Wednesday night.

James missed Saturday’s game with ankle tenderness. He has returned from a one-game absence to join Dončić in one of the most expected NBA player debuts in recent memory. James ended with 24 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in the victory.

Austin Reaves fell 22 points and nine rebounds, and Rui Hachimura added 21 points and six rebounds for Lakers. Lauri Markkanen led Utah with 17 points in the loss after he went 1-of-8 behind the arch. John Collins finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds, and Jordan Clarkson finished with 16 points. Jazz sits on 12-40 on the season.

While it was a blow -out win and the two stars are still working to find out how they compile on the field, Dončić era is officially underway in southern California.
