Celtics 103-85 Heat (10 February 2025) Game Recap

Miami-Jayson Tatum scored 33 points, Kristaps Porzingis added 17, and Boston Celtics rolled past the Miami Heat 103-85 Monday night.

Al Horford scored 16 points, Sam Hauser had 15 and Derrick White added 13 to Celtics. Boston took 53 3-Pointers in the game and only 32 2-Pointers.

Bam Adebayo scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Miami, who was without Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez Jr. – Both sidelines of illness.

Andrew Wiggins had 11 points in his heat debut. Miami shot 33.7% and has been held less than 90 points in each of his last five matchups with Boston.

Included Playoffs, Boston has now won five equal meetings with Miami, each of them one-sided-10-84, 102-88 and 118-84 in the last three games in the series from the first round of 2024, 108-89 on Dec. 2 and now this 18-point victory.

Takeaways

Celtics: Jaylen Brown missed the game with swelling in his right knee and JRUE Holiday was out with a right shoulder problem. When asked before the game, if he was concerned about injury problems, Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla said they are not problems. “They are opportunities,” he said.

Heating: Miami’s new faces acquired in Jimmy Butler trade-wiggins, Davion Mitchell and Kyle Anderson-Meat a combined 5 for 25 from the field, 2 for 13 from 3-point reach. Wiggins and Mitchell were both in the starting lineup for their Miami debut.

Miami led 24-13 and Boston went on 26-5 races over the next seven minutes. Celtics continued to check the rest of the way.

Key State

It was the 69th time in heat history that they shot less than 35% in a play in regular season. They are now 2-67 in such competitions.

Up next

Boston ends his pre-all-star plan on Wednesday at home against San Antonio. Miami plays in Oklahoma City Wednesday and Dallas on Thursday.
