Schools advertise early redundancies, virtual learning days in the middle of incoming winter weather

When a winter storm moves towards Maryland, schools announce early layoffs for Tuesday, February 11.

The following changes have come into effect:

  • Anne Arundel County Public Schools – Virtual Learning
  • Alleghany County Public Schools – Open
  • Baltimore City Public Schools – Activities after school canceled
  • Baltimore County Public Schools – closing 3 hours early
  • Calvert County Public Schools – Close 2 Hours Early
  • Carroll County Public Schools – Open
  • Charles County Public Schools – Close 2 Hours Early
  • Frederick County Public Schools – closing 3.5 hours early
  • Garrison Forest School – closure at. 15.45
  • Gerstell Academy – closure at. 12
  • HOPE ACADEMY – closure at. 15, none after -care
  • Huber Child Development Center – closure at. 15.00, no after -care
  • Howard County Public Schools – closing 3 hours early
  • Maryland School for Deaf – closure at. 12
  • McDonogh School – closing 3 hours early
  • Prince George’s County Public Schools – Close 2 Hours Early
  • Queen Anne’s County Public Schools – Tier 1 Off at. 12, tier 2 off at. 13.00
  • Rock Church Academy – closure at. 12.30
  • St. Mary’s County Schools – Close 2 Hours Early
  • Talbot County Public Schools – Close 2 Hours Early
  • Washington County Public Schools – Close 2.5 hours early
  • Wicomico County Public Schools – Closing 3 Hours Early
  • Worcester County Public Schools – closing 3 hours early

University of Maryland, College Park closes at. 14.00.

Maryland State Government will have a liberal leave policy in force from 1 p.m. 12 through the end of the day, although telecommunications workers and emergency staff will continue as planned.
