DC Snow Prognosis: Winter Storm -Warners as DMV is preparing for heavy snowfall

Heavy snow is expected to start this afternoon and continue at night and potentially bring significant accumulation to the Washington, the DC region.

Fox 5’s Tucker Barnes and Taylor Grenda say Tuesday’s snow will start between 7 p.m. 11 and 13 and continues in the afternoon. The heaviest snowfall is expected tonight with snowfall speeds is expected to reach one to two inches per hour late afternoon and evening.

The snow is expected to continue overnight with a wintry blend that can continue into Wednesday, which potentially affect the morning drive. The precipitation was to be bottled later during Wednesday morning hours.

Winter Storm -Warners and Consultants

ONE Winter Storm Warning Has been issued from 1 p.m. 13 this afternoon until 7 p.m. 7 Wednesday to Washington, DC, Central and Southern Maryland and Central and Northern Virginia.

Further north in parts of Maryland, Extreme Western Allegany and Garrett County and in Western Mineral County in West Virginia, A Winter weather advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. 11 Tuesday morning to 7 Wednesday.

Expect reduced visibility on the roadway

Roads, and especially bridges and transitions, are likely to be smooth and dangerous. Residents are advised to prepare for the slippery road conditions, which can affect both Tuesday night and Wednesday morning travel.

Visibility could fall to less than a mile Tuesday afternoon and evening, creating dangerous travel situations.

The total sneak cumululation estimates are between three and six inches in the immediate DC area with five to eight inches south and west of the district.

Prepare for travel disorders and dangerous conditions

If possible, National Weather Service says drivers should delay everyone traveling while the warnings and watches. is in effect. Any motorists on the roads should run with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility.

Drivers must leave plenty of space between them and vehicles in front and give extra time to reach their destination. Avoid sudden braking or acceleration, and be particularly careful with trays or when turning.

Precautions and preparations
