National Weather Service in Topka predicts 5-8 inches of snow Tuesday night with freezing temperatures during the week.

Light snow is expected on Tuesday morning with heavy accumulations after midnight until Wednesday, meteorologist Nathan Griesema said in Topka. He said the snow would last until Wednesday afternoon.

“It will be a pretty dry, fluffy snow. We don’t expect much ice cream with this storm, ”Griesemer said.

Tuesday will have a high temperature around 26 degrees, which fall into teens on Wednesday with a height of 20 degrees. Thursday morning will be dry, but even colder with temperatures around 4 degrees and with wind cooling down to minus 15 degrees, Griesemer said.

A chance for more rainfall will return on Friday on the weekend, but temperatures are expected to warm up again with heights in the mid -30s on both Friday and Saturday.

“Maybe it’s just rain,” Griesemer said.

The rest of February temperatures are expected to be winter, Griesema said.

“There is no sign of saying that spring is coming early,” Griesemer said.
