More snow expected this weekend in Milwaukee after 5-9 inches Wednesday

Up to 9 inches of snow are expected to hit Milwaukee on Wednesday, followed by more snow this weekend.

Milwaukee-Sulivan National Weather Service Meteorologist Aidan Kuroski said the city could see another 3 to 6 inches of snow Friday afternoon to Saturday, although that forecast could change.

“It’s still a bit uncertain this weekend, and much of it will be determined after this system comes through Wednesday,” Kuroski said. “The Wednesday looks better and better for the Milwaukee area to look near 5 to 9 inches of snow with a lot of sea improvement potential.”

The weather service has Issued a Winter Storm -Warning For Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Sheboygan, Racine and Kenosha counties. The warning is in effect from noon Wednesday to 3 Thursday. Higher snow plays are expected in the southeastern part of the region, closest to Lake Michigan.

In Milwaukee is snowfall In the forecast From 1 p.m. 06 Wednesday to 5 Thursday with chances that are highest between 7 p.m. 9 and 23 Wednesday. The heaviest snowfall is expected in the afternoon and evening. The weather service says that snowfrequences along the Lake Michigan coast can reach up to 1 inch per hour at times.

Milwaukee-Sulivan NWS meteorologist Mark Gehring said the snow “will definitely affect” Wednesday night commuting in Milwaukee. NWS encourages people to keep an extra flashlight, food and water in their vehicles in the event of an emergency if they are to travel. Agency recommends to keep up to date with the latest road conditions by calling 511 or visiting 511WI.GOV.

“I would expect you to have snow -covered roads, smooth conditions,” Gehring said. “It gets cold enough for the snow to easily clinging.”

A height of 26 degrees is in the forecast for Wednesday afternoon with wind cooler in the middle of teens. Temperatures drop to about 14 degrees early Thursday morning, with wind litter around 0 degrees.

Milwaukee Weekend Snow Forecast

Over the weekend, Kuroski said the Milwaukee area can expect “long -lasting snowfall, starting on Friday and then going through most of Saturday.”

In Milwaukee, Snow is in the forecast from noon Friday to 1 p.m. 11 Sunday with chances that are highest between 7 p.m. 18 Friday and at. 5 Saturday.
