Cincinnati notch the first three-game Big 12-winning stripe with triumph

Cincinnati – Bearcats resisted a shooting barrage from Utah score on Tuesday night to earn a three-match winning row in Big 12 for the first time in the Wes Miller era.

Jizzle James (Cincinnati Season High 25 points, six assists) has assumed the mantle of offensive dynamo at the right time for UC basketball, and he got just enough help overcoming a three-point spamming of Utes (13-32 from outside) .

Cincinnati dominated the glass 41-29 and committed only 11 revenue while continuing to run at a nice pace in a high octan-up-and-down matchup. Four different bearcats were in double figures again as they continued to play free and loose on their way into the season’s biggest game against No. 10 Iowa State on Saturday afternoon.

Bearcats got another star play out of James on Tuesday night as he scored 20-Plus points in back-to-back games for the first time since 2024 Nit.

He did it at all levels: Deep Balls, Midrange, by the basket through traffic. Dynamo Guard was the top defensive opportunity for Utah, but he wanted to go to another great excursion on hypere-efficient efficiency (10-15 from the floor, games high 26 efficiency score).

James was easily the team’s most effective player throughout the game and helped catalyze another outrageous team game from outside (11-22 from Deep). He was one of four bearcats that hit several triangles and UC is now 6-0 this season as they hit 10-Plus triangles in a game.

James’ ugly handle was encased on a dirty crossover about 10-minute brand in the second half that he turned into a light set up. UC needs an offensive killer who can create their own appearance and bend defense to their will. Sophomore has done just that in the last few matches.

Cincinnati got another prominent performance from the bench from Josh Reed (Career High 13 points, four rebounds) after his career mounds 12 points in Saturday’s win over Byu.

Cincinnati found some good open looks from deep with lovely ball movement and Reed was an important charity. He shot the ball with confidence in the catch and even rolled an ugly stepback -riot, he created himself. It marked the second time in his career, he has hit three-plus triangles in a game (three against East Carolina in January 2023).

This kind of bench scoring impact has been exactly what Cincinnati’s violation needs in conference games. Tyler Betsey (2-2 from deep) rolled as well as some bombs to give Cincinnati another double digit that appears from deep on great efficiency.

The pace was fast in this game where Cincinnati tried 61 shots against a top-100 tempo team in the utter. Reed and Betsey were ready for the quick looks, and it helped connect Cincinnati’s violation on the way to a third consecutive win and games over 80 points.

Cincinnata’s mascot stuck stupid fun at Madsen Brothers name with a childish character that was supported in front of their bench and that didn’t help UC contain him (Season High 28 points, two assists).

He hit 8-22 shots from the outside and ate absolutely Dan Skills Jr. (nine points, six rebounds) alive when he was on this task. The cutting and the rapid movement in Halfcourt was a massive problem for UC’s usually strong three-point defense.

It’s a complete outlier volume performance from his recent game. Madsen had shot 38% off the field that came into this game. Unfortunately, he was more than comfortable taking 26 shots as the fifth highest utility player in the BIG 12 who entered this game (27.5% utility frequency that came into the game).

Madsen’s gravity outside led to a brutal interior defense when Use’s Outscored Cincinnati 32-24 in the paint thanks to some questionable defensive switches. Startingcenter Lawson Lovering (14 points, four assists) rolled to the basket for a handful of dunks and shot 7-9 from the floor.

It didn’t do anything in the end when UC closed the game on a 13-3 race to take both revenge excursions against their Utah-based conference opponents. Next, a real road measurement stick in Iowa State is Saturday at. 16 one at ESPN2.
