Winter Storm Warning issued for Wednesday

A winter storm warning is in effect for Racine, Kenosha, Washington, Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Shbyygan and Waukesha counties from noon Wednesday to 7 p.m. 3 Thursday.

A winter weather counseling is in effect for Walworth, Fond du Lac, Dodge and Jefferson counties from 7 p.m. 9 Wednesday to 7 p.m. 3 Thursday.

A Panhandle Hook Storm develops and is approaching the Midwest tomorrow. The latest computer model runs have indicated a weaker system that tracks a little further south.

However, added sea improvement is likely to push the total snow amounts over 6 inches for areas under the Winter Storm warning. Lighter amounts are expected further north and west.

A band of lake effect snow can develop early tomorrow morning and then snow from the actual system moves in after 7 p.m. 9. In general, the morning commuting should not be too bad but the evening commuting looks rough. Snow ends with early Thursday morning.
