Body of Woman found covered with blanket in the backyard near Durkeeville

Jacksonville, Fla. – A woman’s body was found covered with a blanket in the backyard of a home on West 16th Street near Durkeeville on Monday morning, according to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

According to police, the woman was found around 1 p.m. 8:30 pm by one of her friends as she had not been able to reach her through the phone.

According to JSO, the study revealed around 1 p.m. 20 Sunday, someone said they heard someone screaming “He will kill me!” Another witness told police that they heard several shots fired.

Police said they were not called Sunday night for any of the incidents.

Despite the witnesses’ stories, officers said they have not been able to verify through shots spots whose shots were involved in the woman’s death.

The woman is not identified.

Police said they have detained someone who was inside the house.
