Bundles of Hope Baby Supply Drives receives donation from Duke Energy and United Way | Wibq the talk station

Terre Haute, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Terre Haute -Mayor Brandon Sakbun and his wife Paiton hold the bundles of Hope Baby Supply Drive and Tuesday, the effort received a big donation from Duke Energy and United Way.

“Just watching Duke Energy and United Way always go up and always help meet this need is inspiring as they are real community partners,” Sakbun said. “Many people when they think of Duke are just power lines and Lineman. They are comfortable with it, but they are also good about investing in our community. “

This donation of formula, diapers, clothing and socks adds to the hundreds of other things collected in over 25 donation places throughout the county. Sakbun said he was emotional to see how many people would be involved in this drive.

“When you look at these businesses and churches, what is the resemblance they all have is a good heart,” Sakbun said. “It just shows when you gather a society together behind a common cause, you can do better and you can grow. We value them all for their support. “

Sakbun believes that supporting society should be a highest priority for the local government. Therefore, they plan to continue the efforts like this in the future.

“Of course, when people think about the government, they get a little frustrated, but it’s not us at the local level,” Sakbun said. “We are a call away from trying to help and do what we can. Sometimes it connects individuals with other resources, and sometimes, like this Saturday, it gives resources to another individual. “

The last day that donates is February 13, and the drive will be held on February 15 in the town hall from 1 p.m. 10 to 12 is open to Vigo County residents.
