Students taken to the hospital after matches broke out on Doss High School

Louisville, Ky. (Wave) – A JCP student was taken to the hospital after matches broke out at Doss High School on Monday afternoon.

A letter sent home to parents on February 3rd said some students started fighting during lunch. This match was quickly broken up, but in the meantime, matches that involved other groups of students began. The staff also broke up these matches and the JCP police were called.

“Although there did not appear to be any serious injuries to the staff or students, a student was taken to the hospital via EMS as a caution,” wrote Principal Julie Chancellor.

According to Chancellor, several students were involved in the matches and many of them have been taken out of school by a parent or guardian while Doss Høj is investigating the events. She said that the students involved will be disciplined according to Student support and behavior of intervention handbook.

“It is disappointing that we had this disturbance on our school day,” Chancellor wrote. “This behavior is unacceptable and is not tolerated at Doss High School.”
