Two dogs were taken into custody after a dog fight, a person led to the hospital

Colorado Springs – Two Pit Bulls were taken from their owner Monday morning after a dog fight.

According to a post about Colorado Springs Police blotter, K9 officers with Sand Creek Division called a house along East San Miguel Street for a possible dog attack around 10 p.m. 10:40

When officers arrived at home near the North Academy on the east side of the Colorado Springs, they found the owner on the ground that limited one of the dogs. Officers decided that the owner had been drawn to the ground by the two pit bulls.

When the officers found that the owner one of the Pit Bulls was not fully retained by its harness and was still very aggressive. Using a “catch pole” K9 officers was able to secure the dog without further damage to the animal or others present on stage.

K9 officers eventually transferred both Pit Bulls to the Humane Society of Pikes Peak region. During the incident, a neighbor to the Pit Bull owners tried to intervene and were slightly during this process that hurt their hand.

One person was taken to the hospital as a result of the incident, but police did not elaborate on whether it was the owner of the Pit Bulls or the neighbor who intervened.
