Winter storm with high influence escapes beyond the central US

Another winter storm is to detach its rage over the central United States, bring heavy snow and ice to parts of the plains and midwest, forcing officials to close state offices and schools and get warnings to delay the journey if possible.

This latest round of bad weather comes just as Mid-Atlantic and Ohio Valley clean up after a storm system brought snow and ice to these regions and days after a winter storm slammed parts of northeast and New England last weekend.

Fox Forecast Center also monitors the development of another storm system that is expected to slam dozens of states over the coming weekend.

Like what we experienced with the system earlier this week, this winter storm in the midweek brings again snow to the plains and the midwest, but there will be much more of it this time.

Fox Forecast Center said powerful snow is possible from Kansas City, Missouri, to Chicago and Detroit in the Great Lakes region on Wednesday, as the low -pressure area quickly strengthens.

Out of all Storm Systems, Fox Forecast Center has tracked this week, this one seems to be the one that may be the snow -capped in terms of totals and coverage.

Snowfall speeds of about an inch per hour are expected to produce at least 4 inch total sneak cumulation from central Kansas northeast over through large parts of the lower Michigan, including Kansas City, Chicago, Milwaukee and Detroit.

According to Fox Forecast Center, this winter storm could be the largest blizzard of the season so far for several Midwest towns, including Chicago and Detroit.

The largest single storm for Chicago was 2.2 inches on January 10, while Detroit picked up 4.3 inches between 10 and 12 January.

Many Midwest towns fall afterwards when it comes to Snowfall Total this winter.

Chicago, for example, is more than 15 inches below average, while Milwaukee sits approx. 20 inches below average.

Forecasts are concerned about more than snow; ICE could also become a problem in Oklahoma, Missouri and parts of Ohio.

Thundersnow was also reported in Oklahoma City and Norman, Oklahoma, early Wednesday morning.

Winter Storm warnings are in effect from Kansas and southern Nebraska to western Illinois and eastern Wisconsin. Winter Weather Advisories covers Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis.

An Ice Storm warning has also been issued for parts of Ohio, including Toledo.

As the storm moves into northeast and New England on Thursday, it will bring some warmer air from the south.

It will lead to a mixed bag of precipitation types, including snow, gossip, freezing rain and just plain rain.

Snow is likely to fall on the start of the storm before it quickly changes towards almost everyone in the northeast, except for those closer to the US -Canada border.

A Winter Storm warning has been issued to the northern Maine due to the threat of up to a foot of snow.
