Tulsi Gabbard sworn in as director of National Intelligence in the White House

President Donald Trump’s new Director of National Intelligence (DNI), Tulsi Gabbard, was sworn into the White House on Wednesday, a few hours after being confirmed by the Senate.

The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told journalists during her briefing, “Senate Republicans continued to confirm President Trump’s unusually qualified nominees, most recently director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who will later join us in the White House for her difficulty ceremony.”

“It is imperative that the rest of the president’s cabinet -nominated be confirmed as soon as possible,” she added.

The Senate confirmed Gabbard in a vote of 52-48. The shift was along party lines, with the exception of former GOP senate leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky, who opposed her.

“In my assessment, Tulsi Gabbard failed to demonstrate that she is prepared to assume this enormous national confidence,” McConnell said in a long statement of her voice.

“The nation should not have to worry that the intelligence assessments received by the president are occupied by a director of national intelligence with a history of alarming lapse in judgment.”

Gabbard was in particular controlling his previous meeting with former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, her former FISA section 702 Stance and her previous support for NSA Whistleblower Edward Snowden.
