“It doesn’t cost anything!” he says. “Look, I’m a volunteer. I live nearby and give my service free. I think the best way to help people is to teach them something you are doing well and I always did well in Spanish in school. ”

Despite Sharlene several times insisting that she and her husband are not interested, Señor Smith continues and teaches her that Paul’s name in Spanish is Pablo.

¿Ere es Pablo? “ The tutor asks. “¡Hola Pablo! Hola, Pablo, Hola. Me Llamo Señor Smith, an Español, Lopez. Me llamo señor Lopez. ¡Repíteme! “

“Sharlene, who is this guy?” Paul asks his wife.

“He wants to teach us Spanish,” she replies. “It’s free!”

Señor Smith eventually lures Paul to repeat a few Spanish phrases before he is eventually asked to leave. “Thank you so much for the lesson, I think we’ve learned enough now. Nice of you to come by, ”says Paul as he moves Martin’s character out the door.

“An Español, Pablo,“Señor Smith, alias Señor Lopez, tells him.
