Cunningham dazzles in strong third quarter

One of the wildest jerks in All-Star’s career came midway through the third quarter as Pistons took control of the game. He drove right and slid past Josh Giddey, met Matas Buzelis at the edge and switched to his left hand before flushing the can through the contact.

That and 1 free kick gave him 20 points and pushed pistons’ lead to 15, the first time they flirted with a blowout margin at night after defeating bulls with 40.

Cunningham continued to cook, throwing himself through the field to back-to-back-layups and extended the lead to 16-2. He could not be stopped in the third period, making five of his eight shot attempts with a few assists and a block to close the pre-all-star game part of the season on a strong note.

Stewart brings the defense from the bench

It seemed to be a wide open lane to the edge of a dunk, but beef stewed it out.

He rejected a cane from Coby White late in the third quarter less than a minute after Cunningham Subbed out and ignited a block party in the last period. He spoke three refusals in the fourth, Swatting attempt from Buzelis and Gidde, the latter twice in a minute.
