It’s hard work to try to keep a secret in the video game industry, but we did! After the surprise message during today’s state of games, I can finally fill you in at Koei Tecmo’s latest addition to the famous Warriors -Franchise, Warriors: Abyss. When we merge with the exciting Warriors action with Roguelite -gameplay, we transport players to hell, where they will fight thousands of enemies over a fiery landscape of death and destruction! And the best news of everyone, you don’t even have to wait long to play as the game is available today on PS5 and PS4!

Now that the secret is out, let me explain the mechanics of the game.

Warriors Action × Roguelite

Warriors: Abyss introduces a new way of playing a Warrior title by combining the exciting feeling of 1 vs. 1,000 action with Roguelite elements, such as randomly generated stages and objects and improving the playing strength through choices, allowing for another experience with each playthrough and encouraging countless hours of playback and fun.

Prepare for electrifying actions as you blow hordes of enemies with spectacular effects, all while navigating in phases and performing different strategies. This is the essence of warriors: Abyss!

Over 16 billion combinations

At the core of the game’s repetition is the inclusion of over 100 unique characters. In Warriors: Abyss you not only check your chosen hero, but also recruit characters you encounter along the way. After adding a character to your team, you can then use the Summoning Heroes action to invoke these allies. Then you can activate unique tactics that significantly improve your entire team. Each summoning heroic and unique tactics has its own different properties, allowing for countless strategies based on your combinations and chosen actions. Included the character you control you can have up to seven active heroes in battle! With the opportunity to choose seven characters from a pool of 100, the potential combat combinations exceed an astonishing 16 billion! Try different combinations and create your very own ultimate party!

In addition, we plan to regularly release new characters for free after the game’s launch. The first batch will be characters from the Jin Kingdom of the Dynasty Warriors series! From the other batch onwards, there may even be characters outside the Warriors series participating in the battle!

The world of “hell”

The game lies in the scary “hell” where we introduce a variety of environments when heroes dive deeper and deeper into the unknown thanks to the guidance of Enma, the king of the underworld. Inside hell are the damn souls formidable, so be careful as you find yourself losing life over and over again until you develop the best strategies to fight you out of each level.

The more you play, the faster you find out, this game is not solely dependent on simply improving your action skills. By changing the combinations of heroes and objects, you can discover new strategies to overcome challenging obstacles, which is a key feature of the game. Use the different strategies that change with each playthrough as you fight you through hell and its seemingly countless number of demons!

This is the character art of Enma, the king of the underworld. When players face the trials in hell, Enma will become a reliable and lovable companion.
