Mavericks Odds: Golden State Warriors Travel to Dallas Rolling Mavs

We have reached the penultimate day before the NBA starts for its annual All-Star break. But lucky us because we have two games to look at the next 36 hours. Today Dallas Mavericks (28-26) looks to hold onto their position in the Western Conference Playoff Race against Golden State Warriors (27-26), there are only 0.5 games left in the position.

If I know a thing about the NBA basketball is that the games that happen just before the All-Star break get strange. As an example, Chicago Bulls scored 29 points in half of basketball yesterday, on the way to a 40-point Christmas in the hands of Detroit stamps. All 30 teams in the association play tonight and I guarantee that there will be a few results that will make you ask yourself ‘what?’ Is this game one of them? Let’s get into ‘Cap.

How to see: It is an 8: 30p start time because the suit at ESPN has the national broadcast of this one. But if you are so inclined, Kfaa Ch. 29 or Mavs TV also has the local broadcast with Followill & Company.

Over/below: 233 (-112/-108)

Moneyline: Dallas (+220) to pull up the upset of

Just some line analysis here. Warriors opened up as 3.5-point favorites here. The market is not always right when lines move, but when they move a lot in this small amount of time, it is a sign that someone knows something. We’ll find out soon!

Game selection

Jimmy Butler over 20.5 points (-105)

KYRIE IRVING OVER 2.5 RELEASE (-140)

Warriors -9.5 (+130)

Butler will probably draw PJ Washington if he plays. But the numbers at Butler are deceiving, given that he sent it in with the heat. PJ matches well here, but I think Dallas will shrink to include Golden State’s ball and player movement enough for where Jimmy will draw lots of discrepancies.

Kyrie Irving is a great player and ball trader, doesn’t get me wrong. But Golden State throws the kitchen sink on him as he is the only person you really trust to dribble the ball. Daymond lurks for any spring pass, and out of double teams, Kyrie can get a little slurry at times. I expect a high turnover evening from Mavs.

Finally, this matchup is unique on several different levels. If you are looking for Mavs optimism this is this: Golden State is not exactly one to dominate you with big. So even though Dallas gets very small, Golden State is fine playing ball on these terms. However, the problem with that is that Dubs are better at it than Mavs. This line is running for a reason, so let’s just get far in front of it. Golden State with double digit.
