Denison, Texas (KXII) – every year orders more than triple the week for Valentine’s Day for Judy’s flowers shopping.

Although a rose says as much as two dozen … it doesn’t cost almost as much. “Some people like to spend extravagant on Valentine’s Day of $ 500, $ 600, some like to send two, three dozen roses,” said Ashley Ohrt, co -owner of Judy’s Flower Shopping.

Like previous years, orders are up. “On a typical day we make about 75.85 deliveries, and on Valentine’s Day we do about 300,” said Ohrt.

Things do not slow down. Valentine’s Day expenses are expected to reach a record 27.5 billion dollars This year, according to the National Retail Federation. That’s about $ 2 billion more than last year.

As the pace picks up, Ohrt said it requires more hands on the deck. “Extra drivers, extra vehicles and extra help around the store.” As for customers, there are a number of flowers and prices to choose from. “We try to accommodate each price point and have something from $ 10 up to $ 500,” said Ohrt.
