Baltimore-You can now reserve parking spaces in parking spaces outside the street as garages in the city of Baltimore through Parkmobile.

Tiffany James, Head of Communications with the Baltimore City parking authority, explained how it works.

Then you can reserve a space in that parking garage, scan your phone at the entrance and park your car.

A man who refused to share his name told WMAR 2 NEWS that he is using a parking garage in Fell’s point at least three to four times a week.

He pays for it in the traditional way by grabbing a ticket and paying on the machine before returning to his car.

He said he has not had the best experience with systems like this in the past.

“I haven’t used it. One of the other garages I used, the one they raised their price but two even though they hadn’t done that, they demanded people to use it and I like to be able to use My card and came in easily and out.

But he warmed up to the idea after learning that you don’t have to use Park Mobile if you don’t want to.

“It would probably be a little better. It’s also one of the things where when you first do it once, it’s probably not that bad. I’ve come to this area for 10 years and I’m used to make things like i do them.

According to the parking authority, this does not extend to parking on the street.

But you can pay for that parking on the street and extend the time on your phone if you need it.

Tiffany told WMAR 2 NEWS why she thinks the partnership was needed.

“When I travel to Washington DC, and I’m not familiar with the parking situation down there, I often move on to one of these apps and see what my options are, I feel a little more confident that I have done it Good decision. “

But what if someone is parked in your reserved place?

Tiffany said she doubts it would happen.

ParkMobile -Vice President David Holler sent a statement that partly said that parking garage staff and enforcement teams will make sure reserved spots go to the right people.

He also assured that there will be no wave or overload prices in the app.

Another nice feature: You can use the Parkmobile app in more than 700 cities around the country, including Washington, DC
