Zvonimir Ivisic sets up 25 as Arkansas dumps LSU

Zvonimir Ivisic scored 25 points, and Arkansas used a strong second half to take control of a 70-58 win over LSU on Wednesday in Fayetteville, ARK.

Johnell Davis added 11 points and DJ Wagner had 10 for Razorbacks (15-9, 4-7 Southeastern Conference), who Outscored Tigers 36-23 in the second half.

Ivisic conducted 10 out of 13 field target attempts, which helped his team enjoy an advantage of 51.9 percent-39.1 percent when shooting from the floor.

Robert Miller III scored 16 and Cam Carter had 13 for Tigers (12-12, 1-10) who lost their seventh consecutive match. LSU’s only SEC victory was a 78-74 decision to visit Arkansas on January 14.

Miller made a layup to start the scoring in the second half and expand Tigers’ lead to three points. The cord changed hands three times and the scoring was tied once before Arkansas opened an advantage of 53-45, bent by a 6-0 race that included two hangers by Billy Richmond III.

Carter replied with a 3-pointer, but Razorbacks pushed the lead back to eight on three occasions before Wagner made two free throw to push the gorge to 62-52 with 5:12 back.

Arkansas maintained a pleasant margin the rest of the way.

Tigers’ bench, their Razorbacks colleagues, but LSU’s starters were outscored 61-28.

LSU scored the first five points in the game, but Arkansas didn’t need to pull himself long as Ivisic scored five of his own for even the score of 9-9. The result was level again before Tigers’ derek-jumping water made a 3-pointer for a 14-11 edge.

Wagner scored four points over a 10-2 race giving Razorbacks a five-point lead. Corey Chest and Carter set three points each as LSU took a 22-21 lead. Arkansas went on with four points on two occasions before Miller made a layup and a can to tie the scoring of 28.

Management changed hands five times more in half, the last coming, when Vyctorius Miller made a 3-second 3-seconds left to give LSU a 35-34 lead during the break.
