IRS TAX Refund 2025 Plan: Details to help with your return

The tax season is in full swing and the IRS expects 140 million individuals to return returns by April 15. Here is the IRS tax refund plan for 2025 and other information that will help you with your return.

IRS Tax Refund Plan 2025

Why do you need to care:

Archiving Start Date: The IRS began to accept tax returns on January 27, 2025.

E-filed return: If you archive your return electronically and choose direct deposit, you can generally expect to receive your refund within 10 to 21 days after the IRS accepts your return.

Sent return: If you choose to send a paper return, it usually takes between 4 to 8 weeks for processing.

Tax Credit: Requiring the earned income tax credit (EITC) or additional childcat’s credit (ACTC) may result in a longer processing time as the IRS needs additional verification. Typically, a refund involving these credits is issued at the end of February at the earliest.

High season: Filing in high season, especially from the end of March to mid -April, may delay your refund due to the large returns being treated.

Direct Deposit: This is the fastest way to get your refund. You can deposit it in your control, savings or pension account.
