IGLOO Remembering more than 1 million coolers over concern for fingertip stamputation

The popular cooler and molding company Igloo remembered more than 1 million rolling coolers over concern that they could cause fingertip steamputation.

The recall involves 90-liter Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a News announcement Thursday.

Igloo -products said in one Note on its website That it voluntarily remembered coolers in collaboration with CPSC.

“The tow can squeeze the consumers’ fingertips against the cooler and pose fingertip steamputation and crushing dangers,” the news message said.

There have been a dozen reports about people who damage fingertips, including amputations, lacerations and bone fractures, the Commission said.

The affected coolers were manufactured by January 2024. The date of manufacture is printed on the bottom of the coolers in a circular pattern with an arrow pointing to the month. The last two digits of the year are printed inside the circle.

The coolers that cost $ 80 to $ 140 come in several body and lid color combinations. They were sold from January 2019 to last month at Target, Costco, Dick’s Sporting Goods and other retailers. They were sold online at Igloocoolers.com and Amazon.

People who have purchased coolers are asked to stop using them immediately and contact Igloo for free replacement handles.
