COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – The Aggie spirit was in full swing Friday night as thousands of fans filled Kyle Field for a special cheering practice ahead of Saturday’s historic rivalry game against the Texas Longhorns.

From At 5:30 p.m., this earlier-than-usual cheer practice gave families and the Aggie football team a chance to join the crowd. Head coach Mike Elko and the players made a rare appearance and electrified the atmosphere as fans rallied behind the team.

“When the football players get to be here, I feel like it makes it more special for them,” said one fan. “They’re really going to see this fan base and the traditions that we have that support them.”

For Head Yell Leader Jake Carter, the night had extra meaning as it marked his final Yell Practice as a senior.

“Honestly, just speechless,” Carter said. “Watching the 12th man come together is probably the greatest shouting match in history, and just to see our willingness to come together makes you ready to beat the hell out of you. It was just so special.”

The rivalry game between Texas A&M and Texas, the first in more than a decade, has reignited passion among fans. Shouts and chants filled the stadium, with cries of “Beat the hell out of tu” echoing throughout the night.

Fireworks ended the event, leaving the crowd buzzing with anticipation for Saturday’s kickoff at 7 p.m. 18.30.

“This is more than just a game,” Carter said. “The Aggie experience – it cannot be bought or imitated. You have to be a part of this university to see how special it is.”

The Aggies hope the energy of the 12th man will carry them to victory in this highly anticipated clash at Kyle Field.
