BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Rain will affect the area early Thursday, with the potential for another round to develop by Sunday.

EARLY THURSDAY RAIN

The best chances for rain will occur while many of us sleep overnight into the early hours of Thursday morning.

MYSTERY AGAIN ON THURSDAY

Although a cold front moves through and the rain tapers off during the morning, lingering clouds will make for a rather gloomy day. It will also be breezy and cool with daytime temperatures in the mid 50s to low 60s for most of our viewing area.

MORE RAIN FOR SUNDAY?

Guidance shows the potential for another round of rain and storms coming into Sunday. Additionally, we will monitor the potential for some locally heavy rain Sunday through Monday.

RAIN ACCUMULATED INTO NEXT WEEK

The 7-day outlook from the Weather Prediction Center continues to suggest that totals will average 3″ to 5″ through the middle of next week, with locally higher amounts possible.
