WWE confirms start time for WWE Royal Rumble, venue for 1/31 SmackDown

WWE will continue their pattern of early start times for premium live events with Royal Rumble 2025.

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames had an early start time of 6:00 PM ET. This trend will continue in 2025, as the company has confirmed at 6:00 PM ET as the start time for the WWE Royal Rumble on February 1st.

In addition, WWE announced that the January 31st episode of WWE SmackDown will emanate from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The official announcement is as follows:

“WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings (NYSE: TKO), announced today that SmackDown will take place on Friday, January 31 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis as part of Royal Rumble weekend. Tickets go on sale Wednesday on December 11th at 10:00am ET/7:00am PT via Ticketmaster.com.

Beginning with the Royal Rumble on February 1, 2025, Indianapolis will host WWE’s three biggest stadium events at Lucas Oil Stadium, including WrestleMania and a two-night SummerSlam in the coming years as part of a first-of-its-kind partnership between WWE and Indiana Sports Corp earlier this year. In addition, Raw, SmackDown, NXT and WWE live events will originate from arenas across Indiana, including Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Evansville throughout the partnership.

Royal Rumble streams live in the US exclusively on Peacock from 6:00 PM ET/3:00 PM PT.”
