As the winter storm hits parts of the country, what is our forecast?

While a major winter storm has hit some Midwest states and continues to hit the country on its way east, we don’t expect anything too significant for the rest of the week.

Lake-effect snow showers will bring accumulating snow of generally 1 to 2 inches to the Thumb region through tonight, according to the National Weather Service. A localized area of ​​3 to 4 inches will be possible near the Lake Huron shoreline.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny, with a high of 26. While sunny skies are expected to remain Wednesday, the high will be 19, dropping to 9 overnight.

Thursday will also be sunny with a high of 22. And Friday will wrap up the work week with a high of 26 and partly sunny skies.
