Jaylen Brown said what everyone else is thinking about the OKC Thunder

The OKC Thunder have faced a tough schedule of late as they have battled four legitimate playoff threats over their last five outings, three of which came against serious title contenders.

On Sunday night, however, the ballclub faced arguably their biggest game of the 2024-25 season when they hosted the Boston Celtics in a must-watch matchup between the juggernauts.

Despite their status as reigning champions and the early double-digit lead they accumulated, the play naturally ended as so many have this season: With a Thunder win.

Oklahoma City’s 105-92 comeback victory not only gave the franchise their 30 wins on the year, but their 15 straight, a streak that currently leads all teams in the league.

At this point, it’s undeniable that OKC is the hottest team in the association as we get through early January, and after Sunday’s game, Celtics star Jaylen Brown couldn’t help but give the team their flowers.

Jaylen Brown says OKC Thunder ‘rolling’ after Celtics loss on Sunday

“OKC is rolling right now. We had an opportunity to kind of get on their home court, get a W. Thought we executed well in the first half. Second half, just not good enough, Brown said.

As Brown alluded to, the Celtics had “an opportunity” to snap Oklahoma City’s winning streak while also extending their own to four straight.

Right out of the gates, it looked like this might have been a realistic outcome of the night, as Boston ended the first two quarters 65-55 while holding the Thunder to just 41.7. percent shooting from the floor.

Through that stretch, Brown found himself leading the way with 21 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block while shooting 66.7 percent from the floor.

However, the C’s fumbled the bag in the last half of regulation as OKC stormed back with a vengeance by outscoring them 50-27 while holding the All-Star to an astonishing 0 points thanks largely to a critical matchup switch with Luguentz Dort served as his primary defender.

Despite his wet late game, Brown remained classy and professional with his postgame rhetoric as he not only pointed out how hot the Thunder have been over the last month and change, but also went so far as to shout their general physicality as a collective and highlighted how it particularly set the tone for the second half of the act.

With this win, Oklahoma City is now one shy of tying for the 25th-longest streak ever and is five away from breaking into the top-five.

More importantly, however, they are officially seven wins behind the second-seeded Houston Rockets (23-12) and in total command of the top spot in the Western Conference standings.
