Jonathan Kuminga, Jimmy Butler out for Warriors vs. Heat

The Golden State Warriors wrap up a six-game homestand tonight and hope they can bounce back from Sunday’s disappointing loss to the Sacramento Kings. And they will do so against a Miami Heat team that has been the definition of mediocrity … with a touch of dysfunction thrown in.

Neither team is at full health. Here is the injury report for Tuesday’s match.

Warriors

Out – Jonathan Kuminga (right ankle sprain)

Kuminga suffered a bad sprain on Saturday and has been ruled out for at least three weeks. That’s a tough hurdle for the Dubs to overcome.

Out – Brandin Podziemski (treatment of right stomach injury)

Podz is nearing his return but will miss his fifth straight game on Tuesday. Hopefully a return is around the corner.

Out — Gary Payton II (left calf strain)

This will be seven straight games missed by GPII and the Dubs could certainly use his defense. Hopefully he is able to get back on the field before long.

Heat

Out — Jimmy Butler (team suspension)

Butler requested a trade from the Heat and threw them to the media and they subsequently suspended him, which will cost him millions of dollars. The children have an expression for that. Something about doing something and figuring it out.

Out – Josh Richardson (right heel inflammation)

Richardson’s season has been derailed by injuries. He has played just eight times this year and hasn’t played in nearly two months.

Out – Dru Smith (left Achilles surgery)

Smith was playing some decent basketball this year before injuring his Achilles a few days before Christmas. Unfortunately, that will keep him out for the rest of the year.

Questionable – Tyler Herro (left knee contusion)

Life will be much easier for Golden State’s defense if they don’t have to face Butler or Herro.

Enjoy the action, Dub Nation!
