Specifically, I’m learning that Kate dated a comedian Matt Rife in 2017 and 2018 while she was going through a divorce from then-husband and filmmaker Len Wiseman.

Honestly, I didn’t even know Matt Rife existed before the COVID-19 pandemic. I figured he was conjured out of thin air solely to annoy people through endless crowd work. (Don’t tell me to follow the world of stand-up comedy more closely. I refuse.)

In a statement to PeopleKate’s team denied rumors that she and Matt were involved in an awards season smooching.
