Kate Beckinsale Didn’t Kiss Ex Matt Rife at Globes Party (Exclusive)

Kate Beckinsale did not lock lips with her ex Matt Rife at a Golden Globe Awards afterparty, a rep for the actress tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“It’s wrong that they kissed,” says the representative, addressing one report that the former couple had kissed at Netflix’s after-party at Spago Beverly Hills on Sunday, January 5.

“They are friendly exes who had fun talking,” the rep adds.

Beckinsale, 51, briefly dated the comedian, 29, beginning in late 2017. She was previously married to Len Wiseman from 2004 to 2019. Rife was last romantically linked to Jessica Lord.

After the 82nd Annual Golden Globes in Los Angeles, the British star attended the Netflix soiree and partied with her Click costs Adam Sandler, actor Kevin Miles and Rife. She also hit up Jas Mathur and Michael Braun’s after party at the Chateau Marmont, where she posed for pictures with Gentlemen star Harry Goodwins and singer-actress Paris Jackson.

Rife walked the red carpet at the Globes ceremony, and later reconnected with show host Nikki Glaser at the official afterparty at Circa 55.

Beckinsale last appeared in the 2024 film Canary black. Among her upcoming projects are the thrillers Stolen girl and The patient.

The Underworld star returned to the red carpet last May after a “tough year” of health issues, she told PEOPLE at the time, which she later clarified on social media involved “a hole” in her esophagus.
