Mac Miller’s posthumous ‘Baloonerism’ album tracklist revealed

The estate of late rap star Mac Miller has revealed the tracklist for his upcoming posthumous album, balloonism, which arrives on the fifth anniversary of his earlier posthumous efforts, Circles.

On Tuesday (Jan. 7), a graphic featuring the album’s cover art and tracklist was posted on Mac Miller’s Instagram account, which has remained active in the wake of his death in 2018.

According to the post, Balloonism will consist of 14 tracks, with the only feature coming courtesy of SZA, who is set to appear on the album’s second track, “DJ’s Chord Organ.”

Mac Miller’s alter-ego, Delusional Thomas, will be featured on the song “Transformations.” Balloonism‘s lead single, “5 Dollar Pony Rides,” is out Thursday (Jan. 9) at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET.

The Pittsburgh native’s property previously shared a statement explaining the background behind it Balloonism and their decision to release it to its fans at this time.

“Many of Malcolm’s fans are aware Balloonisma full-length album that Malcolm created around the time of its release Faces in 2014,” the estate wrote at the time.

“It’s a project that was of great importance to Malcolm – to the extent that he commissioned artwork for it and discussions about when it should be published were held regularly, although in the end (the 2015s) GO: OD AM and subsequent albums ended up taking over.”

“We believe that the project shows both the breadth of his musical talents and fearlessness as an artist. Given that unofficial versions of the album have been circulating online for years, and that release Balloonism was something that Malcolm often expressed was important to him, we felt it most appropriate to present an official version of the project to the world.”

Balloonism‘s release comes two days before what would have been Mac Miller’s 33rd birthday.
