Chrissy Teigen shared an emotional and emotional update with her 41.9 million Instagram followers amid the devastating wildfires raging in Southern California.

The 39-year-old cookbook author, who is among the more than 100,000 residents of the City of Angels forced to flee their homes due to the many fires burning out of control around the Los Angeles area, revealed that she was in a state of shock.

“This is surreal,” she said to a mirror selfie from her locker, holding her hand over her mouth. ‘I’m very scared now. Packing.’

The mother of four stood next to a black suitcase and was presumably gathering her most cherished possessions before fleeing with her husband John Legend and their children Luna Simone, Miles Theodore, Esti Maxine and Wren Alexander.

In an earlier post on her Instagram story, she admitted she was at a loss for words when she described the out-of-control wildfires as a ‘hellscape’.

“We are ok right now and I felt weird saying that with so many people we know and don’t do that aren’t ok,” she wrote. ‘Thank you for reaching out. Looking for any way to help our community right now, please send anything you see.

The former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl ended her post by writing: ‘And God bless the firefighters and all the first responders.’

Teigen appeared to leave her $17.50 Beverly Hills mansion, which she and Legend bought in 2020.

In August 2023, the couple, who married in 2013, shared photos of their stunning renovations when they opened their doors to Architectural Digest.

“We love how open it feels and how it’s so connected to the outdoors,” Legend said of their place, before explaining that their last home was “darker and more enclosed, like a sanctuary.”

He continued: ‘We were drawn to this place because of its lightness and airiness… We wanted to create something magical, especially for the children.’

Since the fires broke out, a number of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities have been left picking up the pieces after their affluent neighborhoods were reduced to ash and rubble.

The death toll from the historic infernos has now reached five as heroic firefighters are still battling hellish conditions on the front lines of at least five different fires.

The homes of Anthony Hopkins, John Goodman and Miles Teller are among those destroyed, while dozens of other stars now face an anxious wait with their neighbors to find out if anything could be saved.

Paris Hilton also lost her Malibu waterfront home, which she revealed she learned burned to the ground on live TV.

“Sitting with my family, watching the news and watching our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” the socialite, 43, said on X/Twitter, accompanied by a clip from KABC depicting the damage.

The This Is Paris star – who shares two one-year-old children with husband Carter Reum, 43, son Phoenix Barron and daughter London Marilyn – said she was ‘heartbroken beyond words’ amid the devastating bushfires.

“This home was where we built so many precious memories,” Hilton said. ‘This is where Phoenix took its first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.’

She continued: ‘While the loss is overwhelming, I hold onto the gratitude that my family is safe. My heart and prayers go out to every family affected by these fires.

‘To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories and their beloved pets. My heart goes out to those still in danger or grieving greater loss.’

Hilton said the “devastation is unimaginable” and “to know that so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”

Hilton said members of her 11:11 Media Impact Team are “reaching out to nonprofits today to find out how we can best support the communities affected by these fires” and remain “committed to offering help so as quickly as possible and make a meaningful difference’ to those who need it most.’

She added: ‘To the brave firefighters and first responders who risk their lives to protect us – you are true heroes.

‘I am so grateful for your courage, dedication and the incredible sacrifices you make to save lives and fight this unimaginable battle. With all my heart, thank you.’

Hilton urged her followers to ‘stay safe and follow evacuation orders’ amid the ordeal as ‘you never know when things can change.

‘Let’s protect each other and hold on to the hope that these fires will soon be extinguished. Sending you all so much love and strength. We’re in this together, LA. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight.’

Sources told TMZ that the house that burned in the fire was not the ‘main residence’ that the hotel heiress lives in, as she owns ‘several properties’, including a mansion in Beverly Hills.

Anna Faris; Adam Brody and Leighton Meester; Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag; James Woods; Eugene Levy; Miles and Keleigh Teller and John Goodman also lost their homes to the fires.

Jamie Lee Curtis, Mark Hamill and Mandy Moore were among the celebrities who said they had to evacuate their homes.
