OKC Thunder jersey history no. 13 – Justin Patton (2019)

The Oklahoma City Thunder (and the Seattle Supersonics before them) have 51 jersey numbers worn by the players who have suited up for the franchise since its founding at the start of the 1967–68 season. To commemorate the players who wore these numbers, Thunder Wire covers the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who have worn them since the founding of the team.

And while these Supersonics jerseys may not remain part of franchise history should a new team be established in Seattle, as was the case with the return of the Charlotte Hornets, they are part of Thunder history today.

For this article we continue with the 15th jersey number in the series, jersey no. 13, with a total of 10 players wearing the jersey in franchise history.

The eighth of these players did so in Oklahoma City Thunder era, big man alum Justin Patton. After finishing his college career at Creighton, Patton was taken with the 16th overall selection of the 2017 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. However, the Omaha, Nebraska native was dealt to the Minnesota Timberwolves with Jimmy Butler for Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen that same night.

There he spent the first season of his NBA career – playing only 1 game after a long recovery from an injury sustained in camp. He also played briefly for the Philadelphia 76ers before signing with OKC in 2019.

His stay with the team would span just 5 games before he would be traded again, this time to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Isaiah Roby and cash. During his time suiting up for the Thunder, Patton only wore jersey No. 13 and put up 1.8 points and 1.0 rebounds per match.
