More forest fires causing destruction on a larger scale Los Angeles areadestroying homes, businesses and landscapes.

Before-and-after photos give a glimpse of how the flames have affected the city. The Palisades Firethe largest in the area, burned over a thousand structures, including many homes in the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood, west of Malibu. The Eaton Fire, the second largest fire, is burning in North Los Angeles, near Pasadena.

Smaller fires, including the Hurst Fire and Sunset fireis also erupted within extensive county. Firefighters say the Sunset fire is under control and the Hurst and Lidia fires were both partially contained Thursday afternoon.
