Man dead in towing

McHENRY COUNTY, ND (Valley News Live) – A man has died after being pinned between a vehicle and a structure.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office says it happened just after 1 p.m. 21 yesterday in 100 Block 42nd St N, about 5 miles south of Karlsrue.

According to officials, a 64-year-old man from Voltaire was driving a pickup truck when it pulled out of the driveway he was pulling into in rural McHenry County. It was stuck in the ditch there.

A 74-year-old man stopped to help the man tow the pickup out of the ditch. As the two worked to tow the pickup, it was coming close to a structure, the sheriff’s office says.

The 64-year-old came out to check on the development. The other man continued to tow the pickup, unaware that the other had abandoned his vehicle.

The 64-year-old ended up being pinned between the pickup and the structure. He was released and CPR was performed at the scene. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.

The man’s name has not yet been released. The accident is under investigation.
